Scoreboard Manufacturing

What Goes Into Manufacturing Your Sports Scoreboard?

The Manufacturing Process

11

Step 1 - Cutting & Preparing Materials

Every sports scoreboard begins with precision cutting and material preparation. Using our in-house fabrication equipment, including laser cutters and electronic saws, we cut aluminium extrusion, backs, ribs and structural components to exact specifications based on the scoreboard model and size. This process ensures each electronic or manual scoreboard component is accurately prepared for assembly, forming a strong and reliable foundation.

Step 2 - Constructing the Box

Once materials are prepared, our technicians construct the scoreboard box. All cut components are assembled into a rigid, weather-resistant frame designed to house the scoreboard display and internal electronics. This stage ensures the scoreboard structure is robust, correctly aligned and suitable for long-term outdoor or indoor use across sports such as football, cricket, rugby and hockey.

Step 3 - Fascia Design & Printing

With the scoreboard box complete, the fascia design is created using Adobe Illustrator. This may include club branding, sponsor artwork or a standard scoreboard layout where no personalisation is required. The final design is printed in-house using our high-spec Roland printer, producing high-quality, durable fascia graphics for custom electronic scoreboards.

Step 4 - Applying Fascia to Perspex

The printed fascia is applied to pre-cut perspex panels using a controlled application process. Masked cutouts are secured, and the vinyl is applied with a high-pressure roller and application spray to ensure a smooth, professional finish. Once complete, the masking and cutouts are removed, leaving a clean, high-visibility scoreboard display face.

Step 5 - Final Assembly & Finishing

The finished perspex display is fitted into the scoreboard box and securely fixed in place. Protective trim is added around the frame to lock the screen and enhance durability. This stage completes the physical build of the scoreboard, ensuring a clean finish while protecting the display for long-term performance in all playing conditions.

Step 6 - Power Options & Mounting

In the final stage, the scoreboard is fitted with the customer’s chosen power solution, including battery-powered, mains-powered or solar-powered options. Where required, the scoreboard is mounted onto a mobile trolley for flexibility. Each scoreboard is fully tested before dispatch, ensuring it is ready for installation and reliable match-day use.
